It happens every year – as soon as the evenings start to shorten, the diaries get filled up. From September’s burst of social energy, to Hallowe’en parties, awards dinners and the build up to end-of-year bashes and – gulp – the pre-Christmas social whirl, this time of year is busier than ever.

If you’re planning client entertaining or a customer event between now and Christmas, there’s a lot to compete with. Even if you can find space in the diary, the days of a warm glass of white wine and a flaky canapé indicating ‘a good night out’ are long gone. How can you get the most out of your budget and time?
