There’s a great quote from entrepreneur and author Jim Rohn that goes; ‘Success is 20% skills and 80% strategy. You might know how to read, but more importantly, what’s your plan to read?’ We really believe Mr Rohn’s onto something here, something that’s especially pertinent in the world of marketing and branded materials.

At Streamline we love a challenge and providing high-quality tailored solutions to our client’s briefs, and we find that some of the best work we’ve done has come out of a clear and measurable strategy. We’ve been lucky enough to work with some fantastic people who’ve come to us with (possibly!) better strategies and customisation often sees a great return on investment.

So, what are a few examples of branded materials that are ripe and ready for customisation to suit your strategy? Well, funny you should ask...

Branded notebooks have taken off in a big way in recent years. They’re amongst our top five most popular products. Luxury notebook brand Moleskine is almost epidemic in its popularity at the moment. Ever-present with students scribbling down their notes in the local Starbucks as they are with office workers, the company made revenues of a staggering €128m in 2015. Five years earlier they achieved the much lesser (but still not-to-be-sniffed-at) figure of €53m! This trend might seem to be at odds with the rise of the smartphone or tablet, but there’s something undeniably satisfying about the simplicity of putting pen to paper without the hassle of passcodes and menu-diving. Notebooks, including those lovely leather-bound Moleskines, can be easily adapted to feature an embossed or digitally printed logo/message on their cover. They’re not only great for use by your company’s employees, but they can make great gifts for important clients that’ll keep you front of mind whenever they have to jot something down.

You might have caught our Signature Bag campaign which was launched back in 2016 during the world-renowned Clerkenwell Design Week. We teamed up with four giants of British art and design in order to raise money for the British Red Cross. The signature on each bag was painstakingly embroidered at our Exeter factory. Fully-lined and made from extremely durable cotton canvas, these pieces had a really premium and sought after feel to them. Not only was it a fantastic way for us to raise some money for an incredibly important charity, but it also demonstrates just how versatile and high-quality our tote bags can be. Especially great if you’re looking to give your brand a premium, contemporary edge and have it seen on a product that people are out and about with.

Talking of being out and about, the World Adapter is an especially practical gift for the exec on the go. Ready to use in over 150 countries it's a quirky way to promote your company, and potentially save someone from the dreaded dead battery - imagine how indebted to you they'll feel! Other on-the-go ideas include Bluetooth speakers and even fitness trackers - how they fit into your strategy is really up to you, but each one represents a great blank canvas for you to broadcast your message on.
