Getting a good reception for corporate gifts

Corporate gifting

Finding the perfect gift for friends and family can be tricky enough but the world of corporate gifting brings with it even further complexities. Originally limited to a token gesture at Christmas time, it has now become much more widely incorporated into broader marketing campaigns.

But this is an area where it’s easy to miss the mark. Low cost, inexpensive merchandise is often poorly targeted, but this doesn’t have to be the case. By asking the right questions and giving it careful consideration, it’s possible to achieve gifting that will really resonate and receive a very warm welcome.

Here are our top tips for making corporate gifting work hard for your business:

Know your audience – The more you know about the recipient the easier it will be to hit the right spot with a gift. The better your relationship with a client or customer and the more knowledge you have the better. For example, members of a local gym would expect a very different gift to a CEO attending a seminar or business breakfast. Think about what is relevant to them to get the most positive outcome.

Location, location, location – As with so many things, location is crucial and can often provide the key to success. For example, a product being promoted at an exhibition needs a different thought process to a product being promoted in a car showroom or in a banqueting hall.

On the move - If your recipients are travelling, perhaps to a training course, exhibition or event, consider something that fits in with their travel needs. This brings a personal touch that really shows you’ve given it some thought.

Less is more – Sometimes less is definitely more. One well-considered, higher quality item can prove far more effective than several lower value items. Don’t just fall back on traditional options such as mouse mats and pens, but give careful consideration to what will leave a lasting impression.

Corporate gifting can be incredibly effective. It helps to build solid relationships and demonstrates that you are truly listening to your clients and customers, making them feel valued and respected. For inspiration get in touch to find out how we can help you.
